GRAFTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Family members are mourning the loss of a 5-year-old boy after he was hit and killed by a car in Grafton Sunday night.

Worcester County District Attorney, Joseph D. Early Jr. confirmed the boy was killed in a car crash near his home on Samuel Drive just before 4 p.m.

The child and the driver have not been identified.

Emergency crews towed a minivan from the scene as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.

A Catholic priest who visited the boy’s family members said he prayed with them and they are trying to do the best they can. He also said the family would like some privacy.

Worcester County DA said the death appears to be “the result of a tragic accident.”
