Team USA got out to a rough start in the Rio Olympics, but they now sit just one win away from the gold medal match.
Packed with a roster of young players (eight first-time Olympians), the U.S. men lost each of their first two matches to open preliminary play in Rio.
They’ve since won four in a row, including a quarterfinals sweep of Poland Wednesday.
One of those early losses came against Italy, the team USA will go up against Friday afternoon.
A victory in the semifinals will pit the U.S. against the winner of Brazil and Russia in the gold medal match Sunday afternoon.
The losers of each of Friday’s semifinals will play in the bronze medal game Sunday morning.
