In Rio, there are swimmers, runners and cyclists—New Hampshire’s Sarah True is all three.

She left London empty handed.

Now, four years later, she said she’s ready for a medal.

Most Olympians specialize in one sport but True, a 34-year-old native of Hanover, New Hampshire native, excels in three.

“I think the balance of three sports has kept me really fresh and engaged for as many as I’ve been in it,” said True.

As a triathlete, she swims 15,000 meters and bikes 40,000 meters, before she runs 10,000 meters to the finish line.

True completed her first triathlon in Massachusetts in high school. She decided to focus on the sport after graduating from Middlebury College in Vermont.

She currently lives in New Hampshire with her husband, Ben, who is an elite runner. True said the hills, trails and lakes surrounding them have helped her get ready for Rio.

She also stays true to roots when fueling up for races.

“I really like maple syrup. Whether its a little in my water bottle or there are these gel packs,” said True.

True finished fourth in London.
