After winning five Olympic medals, four of them gold, Simone Biles will headline the gymnastics gala at the Rio Olympics with a final performance on balance beam.
The gala is a non-judged performance for the Olympic gymnasts, including many of the medalists. Aly Raisman and Danell Leyva will be performing, with Raisman on floor and Leyva on parallel bars. Raisman won a team gold, all-around silver and floor silver in Rio, while Leyva picked up silvers on the parallel bars and horizontal bar.
There will be two gala performances today, both of them running for an hour and a half and streamed live. The first is at 10 a.m. ET and the second at 2 p.m. ET.
Expect the Brazilian gymnasts Diego Hypolito, Arthur Zanetti and Flavia Saraiva, to get the biggest cheers from the fans. Hypolito will be performing on floor, Zanetti on rings and Saraiva on floor.
Gymnasts from non-Olympic disciplines, such as acro, synchronized trampoline and tumbling, will be featured alongside the artistic gymnasts.
The Rio trampoline champions, Rosie MacLennan of Canada and Uladzislau Hancharou of Belarus, will do their routines for the enthusiastic crowd in the Olympic Arena.
The rhythmic gymnastics competition doesn’t begin until Thursday, but several medal hopefuls, like Anna Rizatdinova of the Ukraine and Melitina Staniouta of Belarus, are slated to perform.
