Gold: United States
Silver: Jamaica
Bronze: Great Britain
Allyson Felix ran the anchor leg to clinch the 4x400m gold medal Saturday night for the United States. It was sixth consecutive Olympic gold medal for the U.S. in the event.
Courtney Okolo started the relay and handed off to Natasha Hastings, who passed the baton to Phyllis Francis. Felix crossed the finish line in 3 minutes, 19.06 seconds. It was the fastest time in the world since the U.S. won gold in 2012.
It was the sixth gold medal for Felix, who joined swimmers Jenny Thompson and Amy Van Dyken as the only U.S. women with at least six gold medals. With nine Olympic medals, Felix is the most decorated U.S. woman in Olympic track and field history.
Felix earned her fifth gold medal last night, running the second leg of the 4x100m as the U.S. team won its second consecutive Olympic title.
She also earned a silver medal in Rio in the 400m on Monday, when Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas dove across the finish line to win by .07 seconds.
