PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WHDH) - Firefighters responding to a house fire in Providence, Rhode Island found a pet alligator inside.
The fire broke out Thursday night. Firefighters found the 4-foot alligator in a bathtub on the house’s third floor.
All eight tenants in the house escaped safely but eight firefighters suffered minor injuries. The alligator is now at a reptile shop while its owner finds a place to stay.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
