PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WHDH) - Rhode Island is hoping to host March Madness games once again.

The governor hopes Providence will be selected to replace Charlotte, North Carolina as the site for some of the first and second round games.

Last month, the National Collegiate Athletic Association announced it would pull all championship events from the state of North Carolina due to House bill two, a law that permits discrimination against the LGBT community.
