Italian food is a family tradition
Joe Pace was born in Orsogna, Italy located in the Abruzzo region. He came to America at the age of nine. He settled in Boston’s North End and has become an icon within the Greater Boston food industry.
As was typical during that time, half the family migrated first and later the remaining family members came. So, first Nicolo and daughter, Maria, immigrated to America and a year later, Rosaria and son, Joe, arrived. Nicolo and Rosaria established themselves in America in the 1960s working hard to first establish the neighborhood Italian “Groceria” that has grown to what it is today.
They left a legacy and a prosperous future for the Pace family. Joe has continued to build upon the legacy and now owns three J. Pace & Son food retail locations in Greater Boston and the new Rosaria restaurant in Saugus.
J.Pace is known for their full-service deli, butcher shop, prepared meals and on-site bakery. They also offer catering and online ordering for pick-up.
