FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - The Patriots, just three days away from their Thursday night match-up against the Texans, haven’t brought in another quarterback.

This means they believe Jimmy Garoppolo will be “at least” well enough to back-up rookie, Jacoby Brisset on Thursday.

Multiple reports said Garoppolo suffered a sprained AC joint. If Garoppolo can manage the swelling and discomfort, there’s a chance he could be the backup quarterback, for Thursday’s game.

The optimistic outlook, however, was not enough to soften the blow of losing Garoppolo for the near future.

“It’s very tough,” said Matthew Slater. “I know jimmy has worked so hard to get himself ready to go and he’s put himself in a great position to seize his, his moment so to speak, and it’s tough to see that,” he added.

Bill Belichick said the team will know more on Garoppolo’s condition Tuesday.

At this time–all signs point to Jacoby Brissett making his first career start, Thursday night in prime time.
