GREEN BAY, Wisc. (WHDH)– With Patriots quarterback Mac Jones out of Sunday’s game against Green Bay due to a high ankle sprain, Brian Hoyer will be calling the signals.

Hoyer is set to start in his 39th career NFL game at Lambeau Field, but has lost his last 11 starts as an NFL quarterback. He also hasn’t won a game in nearly six years to the day. As he nears his 37th birthday, he’s still relishing every chance he gets as an NFL quarterback.

“At this point, you don’t really know how many chances like this you get any more, ya know?” he said. “Obviously, it’s a part of the job, you’re always ready to play. And so for me, it’s an opportunity to go out there and have fun and execute.”

He added that he loves playing with his hardworking teammates.

One of the Pats’ top receivers, Jakobi Meyers, will also not play tomorrow due to injury, a factor that could also hurt Hoyer in his game against the Packers Sunday.
