Thanks to their upset over the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday, the Celtics are now 4-1 in their last five games. The thrilling win keeps the Celts in the thick of the playoff hunt.

The number of wins over tough opponents is adding up for the Celtics: taking down Memphis, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Portland — all .500 or better teams that the C’s have defeated in the past six weeks.

With the playoff race heating up, this team is showing it won’t be an easy pushover. The Celtics’ confidence is sky high, and it all starts at the top with their head coach, Brad Stevens.

“I just think he preaches confidence and, you know, stepping up and taking your shots, making plays and trying to put you in a position to be successful,” said Evan Turner.

“To be able to beat certain teams and grind out certain games, like versus Memphis and stuff, that’s a big testament to everything. Whether we are fortunate to make the playoffs or not, I think the way we learn toughness and how we have to really battle and brawl out games is definitely key,” said Turner.

These Celtics are learning how to win in late-game situations. Six of their last 7 wins have come down to clutch situations, within 5 points in the last 5 minutes. The C’s are 4-2 in those games.
