BOSTON (WHDH) - The Celtics made a demonstration of unity before Tuesday night’s preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers last night, which Celtics lost 92-89.
During the national anthem, Boston teammates and coaches crossed their arms and held hands.
The Celtics also posted this video online, in which players call for everybody to unite in the face of social unrest.

Horford says the team chose to lock arms the way it did during tonight's Anthem because the Celtics also did so in the 60s to signify unity.

Professional athletes and sports teams have been protesting the national anthem since 49ers Quarterback Colin Kapernick refused to stand for the anthem in August.
