BOSTON (WHDH) - David Ortiz has been named the winner of the Edgar Martinez Award, given to the best designated hitter in baseball.
In his final season, Ortiz hit .315 with 38 home runs and 127 RBIs.
This is the eighth time Ortiz has won the award, three more times than Martinez, the player it was named for.
