BOSTON (WHDH) - Based on how the Patriots offensive looked in the preseason, it’s hard to start Mac Jones or anyone else on that side of the ball for the Pats with any confidence at this point.

In seven possessions during the preseason, mostly against backups, the Patriots first game offense put up just 10 points, going 3 and out four times, and those struggles will likely carry into the regular season as they continue adjusting to this new scheme and new play calls. Mac Jones: sit on him.

Rams’ Cooper Kupp was hands-down the best receiver in the NFL last season, but the Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown was just as good, if not better, down the stretch. In his final six games last year, St. Brown was targeted at least 10 times, finished with eight or more catches in all six games. He racked up 90 more receiver yards four times, and found the end zone in five of those six games.

Look for the second-year wideout to build off that success. Right now, in week one against the Eagles, Amon-Ra St. Brown: start him. Go check your lineups.
