CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) - Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas hosted a holiday party Thursday for families affected by the massive fire in Cambridge earlier this month.
The party was held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, who donated the space and provided food and drinks. Along with meeting Thomas, Christian organization World Vision donated presents to children who lost their homes in the fire.
Thomas said the party was his wife’s idea and it was the least he could do to lift people’s spirits during a rough time.
“The city of Cambridge – we put the word out and then they just backed it 100 percent. It says a lot about the people in this city. It’s that time of the year where it’s about giving back,” said Thomas.
More than 50 families were displaced by the fire.
