SEATTLE (WHDH) — The Seattle Mariners surprised David Ortiz before Wednesday’s game with a painting done by a local artist.
Ortiz was surprised by several of his friends on the Mariners, including Robinson Cano before the game. As a going-away gift, he was given the painting done by Stoughton artist Timmy Sneaks. Cano contacted Sneaks about making the painting.
“He has seen my work through social media and things like that and they wanted to do something for David for his last year,” said Sneaks.
The painting features the Citgo Sign, Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster and Ortiz’s family.
