Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is the most talked-about man in the week leading up to the Super Bowl, despite not saying much.

Lynch has remained tight-lipped during press conferences, offering up one-sentence answers and telling the media things like, “I’m here because I don’t want to get fined.”

Teammates have defended Lynch and so has his coach, Pete Carroll.

“You’re seeing a demonstration of a guy being himself,” said Carroll. “He’s trying to do the best job he can of being him. Maybe you don’t feel that that’s what he should do. But that is what’s going on. And in that sense, he’s being true to himself.”

On the flipside, Patriots running back Legarrette Blount has been much more candid in sharing his opinions with the media, especially about the Seahawks.

“We motivate ourselves,” said Blount. We do what we want to do. We know what we came here to do. We just let them talk.”
