Julian Edelman has reportedly been cleared to play in the Patriots’ divisional playoff game Saturday.
According to an NFL source, Edelman has spent the past few weeks practicing with a steel plate in his left shoe. The plate prevents flexing and will keep Edelman from refracturing a bone in his foot.
Edelman suffered the injury back in November during the Patriots’ win over the Giants. The source tells 7News Sports Director Joe Amorosino that the bone has since healed but is prone to breaking again.
Edelman will make his return on Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
