FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - The Patriots will face off against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX.

This is the first time the Seahawks and Patriots are playing each other since the 2015 match. In the last three years, the Seahawks and Patriots combined for five conference championship appearances and one Super Bowl.

Former Patriots coach Pete Carroll is returning for the first time with the Seahawks. His former team is preparing for another game that could come down to the wire, like the Super Bowl in February 2015.

“That game came down to 60 minutes of playing good football, there’s no question that, that this week will be the same,” said Danny Amendola. “We’re gonna have to play good football for the whole game.”

One of the best matchups to watch Sunday will be between Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the league’s top defensive back, the Seahawks’s Richard Sherman.
