It was a long trip home for the Patriots after their Super Bowl victory in sunny Arizona.

The team landed at Logan Airport in snowy Boston just after 7 p.m. and finally made it back to Gillette Stadium to greet the fans at 10 p.m.

Hundreds of fans greeted the players and got the opportunity to share a handshake with defensive end Chandler Jones.

“It was great. I just love the support. I’ve never been a part of an organization or a team where the fans show so much support. I love the Patriots fans, they’re great,” Jones said.

Even Coach Bill Belichick thanked the fans, shook hands and smiled outside the stadium.

“Belichick is probably one of the greatest coaches of all time, it’s nice of him come over here and acknowledge the fans,” a fan said.

The weather difference was notable, but that didn’t stop players who had a sunny disposition.

“It’s not as cold when you’re a Super Bowl champ and we’re happy to be home,” running back Shane Vereen said
