Aside from Tom Brady’s legal fight in New York City, it’s been mostly quiet when it comes to Deflategate recently. But the New England Patriots aren’t ready to let it all go.
A post on the team’s site, Wells Report Context, provides a 10-month anniversary update on the facts and myths surrounding the contentious Deflategate issues.
The post breaks down 15 "myths" about the case, including the length of time to gauge the footballs, the Jastremski/McNally texts, Tom Brady’s preference on the pressure in the football, and the destroying of Brady’s cell phone.
"This situation would have been brought to a quick close if the League had even a general awareness of the scientific impact of temperature and weather conditions on the PSI of footballs at the time of the AFC Championship Game," concludes the 8,000-word post.
The Patriots were fined and docked two draft picks for their role in the deflated football controversy, including an all-important first-round pick in next month’s NFL Draft. The Patriots would have picked 29th.
