Just like that, the Boston Red Sox have a starting rotation again.

With two deals confirmed this week and a third coming soon, the Red Sox have rebuilt their starting rotation this offseason almost as quickly as they took it apart over during the summer. Hours after trading for Detroit right-hander Rick Porcello, Boston signed righty Justin Masterson as a free agent.

General manager Ben Cherington hinted on a conference call that the widely reported trade for Arizona’s Wade Miley could be announced soon.

The three starters will help Boston recover from the trading deadline deals that sent away four-fifths of the rotation when the ballclub gave up on defending its World Series title halfway through the 2014 season.
