Super Bowl XLIX is matchup between veteran Brady and QB of the future Wilson

The Super Bowl is a matchup between the two best teams in the NFL and this year it features two men who are arguably the best quarterbacks in the league, Russell Wilson and Tom Brady.

Both quarterbacks were drafted late and both led their teams to Super Bowl wins in their sophomore years in the league.

“We know that the New England Patriots are a great football team. We know that they’re going to battle, they have an unbelievable quarterback, arguably one of the best quarterbacks to play the game in Tom Brady,” Wilson said.

“He’s phenomenal, he’s a phenomenal player, phenomenal quarterback, he’s a great leader for his team,” Tom Brady said,

The quarterbacks have great respect for each other, but they also have different skill sets.

“Him as a player creates a huge challenge for you defensively because of his ability to run and throw the ball,” Patriots defensive back Devin McCourty said.

Wilson represents the future, he’s a consummate leader who is dynamic and explosive on the field.

“When he’s at his best is when he’s able to create and take it to a different level,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.

For the Patriots that means everyone needs to be ready.

“Just everybody having to do their job, knowing the game plan, understanding what we want to do and how we want to attack this guy. He’s obviously one of the better players they have and one of the better players in the league,” Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower said.

Brady is a poised veteran with an undeniable will to win.

“He’s maybe one of the top competitors I’ve ever met and it just brings it out in everyone when it comes to game time,” Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said.

“Tom Brady has been a fantastic performer and a fantastic leader and those guys love playing for him. I think it’s been the same thing in Russell in our club. I think they’ll obviously play prominent roles in this game, but this is team against team, it isn’t one guy against one guy,” Carroll said.
