Attended my daughter’s first softball game last evening & I mentioned to my wife that the game-time weather is exactly the type of weather I played Little League baseball back in 1981 out in the Berkshires…..cloudy and drizzly with temps near 52. The more things change the more they stay the same.
I’m not here to discuss Climate Change but I will say that, like in 1981, today in 2015 we still have slow moving storms that get stuck near New England this time of year. When this happens it can be very frustrating as spring tries to show its face but is often cut off by clouds, showers and cool conditions. That happened yesterday and it will be the rule again for a few more days this week. Despite being close to a storm, it won’ be cloudy rainy the whole time, rather, intervals of clouds & sun (granted these cloudy intervals can last for a day or two). After 8am (let’s say 10am on Cape Cod) we are dry for a few days with varying amounts of sun. Temps will make a decent recovery in that sun today with most towns between 55-60. The numbers will take a bit of a hit tomorrow thanks to an enhanced sea breeze pushing cool ocean air all the way to Worcester (low to mid 50s).
By Thursday and Friday we are back into a cloudy interval and it’s cool, especially Friday as temps on Friday may only briefly get to 50. Ugh. Our weather does improve by the weekend with temps back into the 50s & 60s. MUCH warmer for next week tho–hang in there, things are about to change.
