BOSTON (WHDH) - The city of Boston got a special delivery Friday.

The Holiday Tree arrived on the Common Friday morning.

The tree is a gift from Nova Scotia as a thank you after Boston provided help to Halifax after an explosion in 1917.

The white spruce is 47 feet long and arrived on a flatbed truck.

The tree will be lit on December 1st.
