7News’ Christa Delcamp visited with the students lending a helping hand in the Project Excel program at the Kennedy Day School at Franciscan Hospital for Children, in Brighton

It’s all part of their vocational training. The students learn speech techniques through hi-tech equipment. Some click on computer icons by focusing their
eyes, and the computer does the talking.

Ranging in age from 14-22, the students have significant and complex needs, but that doesn’t hinder their spirit of giving.

Over the holidays, students collected groceries for a local food drive.

They also make hygiene kits for area homeless shelters.

Each student works on skills that are right for them.
