NATICK, Mass. (AP) – Dozens of homes in Natick flew rainbow flags to show support for a gay couple who had their rainbow flag stolen and their front porch egged.
Cari and Lauri Ryding hung the flag following the June massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando. The women discovered the vandalism last week.
A group of children on bicycles distributed rainbow flags to homes Sunday. More than 40 houses hung the flags on picket fences, garages, doorways and decks.
The flags came from a local group that gives the flags away to area residents. Police have asked neighbors for information. There are currently no suspects.
Lauri Ryding says the community’s response has helped restore their faith in their neighborhood.
