Another fantastic day here in southern New England as sunshine is with us all day. That sunshine gets a little help from a warm, west wind and that wind will give temps a nice boost into the low 80s across the region—even at the coast those numbers reach the mid 70s. Heck, that’s even awesome for a day in July or August!

We have more sunshine for tomorrow but there is a wrinkle….a backdoor front….<cue dramatic music>. Normally, our cool fronts come from New York or Ontario Canada but tomorrow we’ll see one drop in from the Gulf of Maine..hence, the backdoor! This front will send midday Friday temps of the low 70s down into the low 50s by tomorrow evening! Yowza.

Thankfully, this cool air is just making a cameo. The weekend sees temps soar back into the 70s & 80s under a mix of sun & clouds. Humidity will also begin rising and this higher humidity lurking near the chilly ocean may lead to some fog & low clouds along the South Coast/Cape Cod both Saturday & Sunday. Overall, Mothers Day is looking partly sunny & warm. She may want the window AC unit put in before the weekend….not a bad idea. What mom wants, mom gets.
