A new screening test is able to detect ovarian cancer in more women than with older methods.

The test looks at how levels of the CA125 protein changes over the time. The protein is linked to ovarian cancer.

Depending on the protein level, doctors use the data to determine if a woman should get more tests or treatment.

In early studies, the new test detected twice as many cases of ovarian cancer than conventional tests.
