The Memorial Day weekend—the unofficial start to summer—-can’t lie, there were days back in February where I thought–nope…spring & summer will be canceled as we fall under the clutches of a semi-permanent polar vortex where only Ian Ziering could rescue us but alas….we shook that pattern and now warmer (and longer) days ahead.
Ha….well…..eventually. I’m actually tracking a strong cold front diving out of Canada (Oh Ian…you free bro?) and this front may pop an isolated shower/sprinkles late this afternoon but more likely also deliver some really cold air for this time of year. Temps overnight will dip into the 30s/40s–even downtown Boston will have a low temp around 45 by early Saturday morning. I’m not worried about frost due to expected wind overnight. That will keep the air mixed up…this time of year, frost usually happens and nights with no wind.
In any event, we’ll get the Holiday Weekend started on a bright note with mostly sunny skies for Saturday. It will be cool 7 breezy with temps reaching the mid 60s (more like Labor day than Memorial Day). Sunday sees a mix of sun & clouds with much warmer temps…mid 70s. Memorial Day itself has an issue–a warm front. This front will produce quite a bit of clouds and perhaps even an isolated shower during the afternoon. Outdoor plans should be OK on Monday. If laying by the pool/on the sand is a must this weekend then Sunday is the day for that as it will be the brightest and warmest of the bunch.
That aforementioned front delivers some real summer heat/humidity by next week. Here comes summer.
Have fun & be safe this weekend!
