Thankfully, Monday has come and gone but sadly, the moisture from the rain has not. Many cities & towns waking up to clouds & fog. Thankfully this time of year the sun is strong enough that it can chew up the thin layer of low clouds/fog so get ready for some sunshine late this morning. Of course with sunshine means June temps returning as afternoon highs will reach the mid 70s and that sun will also be evaporating yesterdays rain into the air so it will be rather humid for much of the day.
Warm, humid air…hmm….any thunderstorms? Why yes! A cool front will punch into New England during the afternoon, leading to a scattering of showers/storms across southern New England. Again, they showers/storms will be scattered so rain gear may be on stand-by for much of the afternoon. In terms of thunderstorm intensity, western New England stands the best chance of seeing the strongest storms while farther east just some showers/downpours are more likely than thunderstorms.
This front will scoot offshore overnight sending the muggies out to sea and setting the table for a fantastic Wednesday. Sunny skies, low humidity and seasonal temps (70s) are in order for tomorrow–Thursday will have a few more clouds around but still great for outdoor activities.
