A driver on route 395 in Oxford was killed Saturday night after a wheel barrow fell off the truck in front of him and he was forced to avoid it.

The 32-year-old man’s wife said the past 48 hours have been “hell” for her.

“The man laid next to me in bed for almost ten years and I don’t have that anymore, I lost my soulmate,” Jessica Richards said.

The wheel barrow fell onto incoming traffic, and the father of two was unable to avoid it.

“Steven was a loving, caring person. He would do anything for anyone in the world,” Richards said.

Most of all, Richards just wants to know why this tragedy occurred.

“Come forward, figure something out, what happened, why it wasn’t tied down. Just figure it out, have a conversation, talk to me like a human being, show some respect,” she said.

State police said they know who that driver is and charges may be pending.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family and the children.
