BOSTON (WHDH) - The Red Sox announced roster moves ahead of Friday’s game in Boston.

The team placed right-handed pitcher Carson Smith on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 15) with right elbow soreness.

Outfielder/infielder Brock Holt was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list (retroactive to May 19) with a mild concussion.

Left fielder/catcher Blake Swihart and right-handed pitcher Noe Ramirez were called up to the major league club from Triple-A Pawtucket.

For the season, Smith has made three appearances, allowing one unearned run on two hits.  This is the right-hander’s first season with the Sox.

Brock Holt is hitting .239 with three home runs this season.
