What was that falling from the sky this morning? Little jab of snow, that’s what. Just enough to register a trace in Boston (essentially snow that flies in the air but doesn’t accumulate).
Now our attention turns to trying to move the numbers out of the low 50s. Tall order in this pattern. Cold air is pooling overhead in the coming days and the tendency will be to keep the status quo. I jumped the shark yesterday and called for mid 50s for this afternoon. Feel short of that, but I have more confidence in hitting it this weekend as the upper atmosphere slowly modifies.
As far as showers, Saturday is dry, but there’s a slight chance of a passing shower away from the coast on Sunday. Reason being, a sea breeze will stabilize the atmosphere along the coast, keeping the threat of showers out of the picture.
Long range, it’s more moderation than continued cold. We’re up to the 60s later next week as the pattern remains essentially quiet – no big cooldowns, warmups or storms (of any kind..rain or thunder).
Enjoy and be safe this weekend.
Pete
