Yowza, how awesome was yesterday?! Too bad it fell on a weekday & not a weekend. We have a great start to today on tap with sunshine & low humidity but as we roll into the afternoon, clouds arrive. Those clouds are tied to our next storm that will pass south of New England late tonight-tomorrow morning. This storm won;t pop any thunderstorms so no threat of severe weather rather just some raindrops. The path of the storm is too far away to really mess things up around here but plan on a bunch of clouds and a few sprinkles this evening right into early Friday morning. Skies will slowly clear out during the day tomorrow.
As for the weekend, here comes another storm and unfortunately this storms path will be a direct hit. Soooooo……Saturday sees sunshine give way to clouds during the day and then a soaking rain arrives Saturday Night and continues into Sunday Morning. Most towns likely pick up an inch of rain (beneficial rain despite it being a weekend) by midday Sunday. There are some signs that Sunday afternoon could be dry with perhaps some late day sun (ala Fathers Day). Regardless, temps both weekend days run cooler than normal…upper 60s/low70s.
Where is the summer heat?! A few of you have asked that question in recent weeks and my response is…still a lot of summer ahead of us! It is a valid question though especially after glancing at our most recent 7-day forecast. Like last summer this summer will probably fall short of the normal amount of days when Boston hits 90° (normally 14 days in a year). The reason is that dang jet stream which has more often than not delivered air from Canada for the past two summers. Truth be told, this time of year that airflow from Canada is very comfortable, it’s when that air comes at us in January where I have issues. There are signs as we approach early July (perhaps just after the Holiday Weekend) that temps may turn hot. More on that another day.
Enjoy your Thursday!
