Today offers more heat & humidity–much like the past two days but unlike the past two days a cool front shows up to our summer block party. This front has popped some hefty thunderstorms across New York and western/northern New England each of the past two afternoons and I think it will be our turn this afternoon.
The storm threat will be scattered in nature so if you have outdoor plans this afternoon, you can keep them just have the 7news weather app handy (#ShamelessPlug), especially between the hours of 4-8pm. The greatest risk with the storms will be lightning, brief heavy rain as well as some gusty winds. For those of you that get tagged with a storm, you could get some beneficial rain! before the storms pop plan on a mix of sun & clouds with temps in the mid/upper 80s.
This front will do its thing then move along overnight. That will set the stage for a couple of great summer-like days both tomorrow & Saturday with brilliant sunshine, low humidity and warm temps–upper 70s/low 80s. Some great weather for outdoor activities. Get after if you can because another cool front arrives on Sunday and that front will move slower keep the risk of showers in southern New England for much of the day.
Enjoy Friday Eve…
