Now that we made it through the holiday weekend without any rain (a few Monday sprinkles doesn’t count) it’s time to start rooting for some. Unfortunately we only have the risk of some scattered storms on Thursday afternoon. Before that happens we have some summer-like weather on tap both today & again tomorrow.

Temps for much of the week will average above normal and that includes today where most towns (even metro Boston) reach the upper 80s. A healthy southwest breeze will keep the cool ocean air away from coastal areas (sans South Coast/Cape which will be cooled by the southwest breeze off of Buzzard’s Bay). The southwest breeze will slowly begin to pump in more humid air throughout the day but despite the warmth & increasing humidity the risk of late day t-storms (summer’s signature) will be marginal at best with western/north New England most likely to see a pop-up storm.

As for tomorrow, you can pretty much copy/paste that previous paragraph for Hump Day Deets. As mentioned, Thursday will offer some scattered storms across the region as a cool front eases in from northern New England. This front will fade away as it passes through so the storms are likely to be slow-movers and scattered–not widespread. In any event, Friday sees a return to dry air but holding onto summer-like warmth, temps reach the low 80s.
