It was a strong start to the weekend yesterday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s.  With lighter winds today, abundant sunshine and warmer temps, it’ll be a superb finish to the weekend as many of us enjoy temperatures well into the 60s!  Yah, it’s a cool start this morning, but it won’t take long for the temps to shoot right up there.

The lighter west winds this time of year can be a catch 22 along the coast as it’s easier for the sea breeze to kick and knock temps from the 60s, back into the 50s.  We’ll see that across Buzzards Bay, the Cape & Islands, and Cape Ann. In fact, temps hold in the 50s across the Cape/Islands all day.  Even in Boston, a late-day seabreeze could sneak in right along the shore, but I don’t expect it to go too far inland.

The breeze picks back Monday, this time out of the south/southwest.  It’s a mild wind direction for a lot of us, and that’ll allow temps well into the 60s to near 70.  The best shot of 70+ will be across the Merrimack Valley.  The South Shore runs in the 60s and Buzzards Bay/Cape/Islands will be in the 50s.  Heading to Fenway?  Those April tickets often come with cool, raw, ocean air, but not this go around as early afternoon temps near 68 and hold in the 60s for the game.

The next chance for rain runs in here overnight Monday/Tuesday morning, then back to dry weather by 1st pitch at Fenway Tuesday evening.

Wednesday and Thursday look great, although we may run into more showers toward the end of the week.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
