ROXBURY, MA (WHDH) —  A toddler was shot Saturday afternoon in Roxbury on Winslow st.

The Police Commissioner said the shooting was gang related and the shot was intended for the little girl’s father.

Instead the little girl was caught in the cross fire.

The bullet went through the 2-year-old’s hand and leg and miraculously she is expected to be okay.

The Commissioner said the shooting occurred just after 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

A man on a scouter drove up to the side of the car and fired into it where that toddler was hit.

The Commissioner is angry and said the community should be outraged.

Police are still at the scene, gathering evidence.
