It’s not a bad start to the day at all with temps in the 60s to near 70 early on this Tuesday morning. While some mugginess is with us, so is a light breeze and rain-free skies. With returning sunshine this morning, temps jump up quickly, reaching the low 90s for many this afternoon. As a cold front approaches, a few mid to late afternoon passing showers/storm pop up. Only 20-30% of the area will pick up on one, and they tend to be brief, with a quick downpour/gusty winds.
Those showers and storms are with a cold front sweeping through that’ll lower the humidity a bit for tomorrow. Inland, we’ll still run in the low 90s but at the coast, it’ll be much cooler, in the low 80s thanks to a steady ocean breeze.
The heat is on Thursday with highs in the mid 90s to 100. Hottest northwest of Boston, although, even in the city, temps run-up to the 97-99 range. It’ll be coolest along the South Coast.
It won’t be as hot Friday, into the weekend, but still plenty warm and humid with scattered showers and storms developing. While that stretch of weather won’t be a washout, the high humidity juices up the atmosphere, so those scattered showers and storms that do form, will be capable of producing localized downpours.
