No need to sugar coat this or try to sweet-talk you on this weekend forecast……it’s not even close to how awesome last weekend was. In fact, it’s pretty close to the opposite……lots of clouds both days, the chance of some showers each day and cool temps for much of the region. We have a storm in the Great Lakes this evening that is swirling toward New England just in time for the weekend and this storm will bring the weather just spelled out above.
Granted, we DO need some rain but we all live for our summer weekends (even meteorologists) and this one won’t be all that memorable with outdoor activities. With that said, there will be some hours each day when it isn’t raining so accomplishing some outdoor activities is possible (neither day is beachy tho….even when it’s not raining, it’s most likely cloudy, foggy & chilly). Tomorrow’s rain could be concentrated after 3pm while Sunday’s rain may wrap up by 3-4pm. Rain….we need it and we should get around .50″ total and perhaps a bit more if you get a few extra downpours.
In any event, our weekend storm peels out of here on Monday so look for improving conditions early next week as well as a warming trend. We’ll be back into That 70s Show on Monday & likely the 80s on Tuesday. It doesn’t stop there as some summer heat looks to surge back into the northeast by Wednesday & beyond with many cities & towns spending several day in the 90s with increasing humidity. As for rain, only a spot thunderstorm possible once the humidity returns late next week.
Have a great weekend!
