The break from summer was relatively brief, but considering it happened over the weekend, many are anxious to get back into summer’s swing. Yesterday, we made that transition from clouds to sun and you could just feel that milder air on the horizon by midday as we entered an enjoyable afternoon.
Today…. we’re back at it with our summer weather. This streak of summery weather this go around will last a lot longer than the cool couple days we had.
With low humidity and clear skies this morning, temperatures start comfortable and end warm with low humidity lingering through the day. Highs this afternoon reach the mid to upper 80s with localized seabreezes along the coasts of Cape Ann and Cape Cod. Temps there are closer to 80. All in all, some of July’s finest on display today.
While the warmth builds today, it’ll be the humidity that builds tomorrow and is especially high Thursday and Friday as dewpoints by the end of the week near 70. That’s some stuffy stuff, so expect it to become more uncomfortable in the afternoons (temps near 90) and warmer at night. While the A/C has had a lot of time off at night this summer so far, it’ll likely get a workout for a few nights coming up as lows struggle to get below 70 Wednesday-Friday nights.
In terms of storms… a few isolated storms are possible Thursday afternoon and again Friday. Not all towns will see them, as the nature of the game is hit or miss, but the towns that do get hit will likely catch a few downpours as the air mass in place is soupy.
