Well a few towns can now officially say it was “freezing” this morning! Temperatures overnight/early this morning dropped to or below the freezing mark in Fitchburg, Norwood, and on Martha’s Vineyard! Elsewhere we didn’t freeze but many neighborhoods woke up to frost this morning on the front yard and car windshields.
With the sunshine today, it was a nice rebound in temperatures as just about everyone was able to make it to the lower 60s this afternoon.
Through the evening hours and overnight hours tonight, we’ll start to add clouds to the mix. For the most part these will be higher clouds so hardly noticeable, however that thin veil of clouds will be enough to save a few degrees on our low temperatures tonight. So while many of us are back in the 30s overnight, we’ll stay above the freeze and frost levels.
Tomorrow will feature noticeably more clouds than the last two days, but I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a cloudy day, and even mostly cloudy might be too extreme. Maybe “mix of clouds and sun” is the best way to go. With the clouds is the chance of a few sprinkles or a very isolated shower, mainly in the afternoon. These are light and super spotty. I wouldn’t alter any outdoor plans you have based on the shower chances but maybe bring a rain jacket as your layer to have a hood just in case you get one of these rogue showers to drift overhead.
Outside of the few sprinkles tomorrow, our next real chance of rain won’t return until the end of the week. We’ll stay dry until Thursday evening. A cold front will swing through then and bring rain Thursday evening through Friday morning. In fact the overnight hours could actually feature some pretty heavy rain. In addition, Thursday looks to be quite breezy. We’ll watch it as the week progresses.
