After a 3 day break from warm, sunny conditions we are set to return to the summer of 2016, which as you know, has been dry. The last in a series of weak storms swirled across New England today with western New England getting a good soaking of rain…between 1-2″ of rain while locations farther east (I’m looking at you Boston) just a wimpy .10″ or less (.04″ officially at Boston-Logan). While we wait for the pattern to snap—no sign of that anytime soon–might as well make the most of the summer sunshine.
High Pressure is back with us tonight and will hang for the rest of the week. initially, this High Pressure delivers some outstanding summer air—low humidity with seasonably mild temps but by the end of the week, warmer & more humid conditions return. Temps should be near 80 tomorrow but will flirt with 90 by Friday afternoon. Humidity will climb a smidge but nothing too overwhelming.
Our next chance of rain comes in the form of some scattered showers late Friday Night (after dark) into early Saturday morning. A cool front is the reason for the scattering of showers but once again, rainfall amounts will be patchy & light. this front won’t knock the warmth out of New England but it will send the humidity packing by Sunday & beyond.
