While we appreciate the water on the lawn, we certainly don’t appreciate the frequent lightning and thunder shaking the house between 3-6am across the area as Ma Nature set the alarm clock way too early.  Oh well, I guess we’ll take what rain we can get.  Now back to the sunshine and low humidity !

The strongest of the thunderstorms dropped pea sized hail and a quick inch of rain, but with the early exit stage east, much of the area is storm free by 8am.  As sunshine returns, humidity lowers this afternoon, allowing for a comfortably warm and breezy afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Tomorrow’s temps near 80 with low humidity with more dry hours than wet, although a brief passing midday shower can’t be ruled out with the cold air aloft moving through.

If you’re looking to grab some ice cream tomorrow night, come by Shaw Farm in Dracut for a good cause.  I’ll be there with Kris Anderson scooping some ice cream!  What shall I serve… chocolate, vanilla, cookie dough?  Last year cookie dough was a popular one.  http://www.jmbigheart.org/#!annual-celebrity-scoop-fest/c1waz  Ok, I digressed, now back to the weather.

Thursday offers a good shot of showers and cooler temps as an area of low pressure slides just to our south, but close enough to bring us some rain.  We need some more rain around here so we’ll take what we can get.  It’s also easier to deal with the wet weather when you know you have plenty of nice weather to follow.  Long weekend coming up?  Good for you!  Friday-Monday look great with high pressure setting up shop as more sun than cloud cover prevails.  Friday is near 80 with low humidity, near 85 with low humidity Saturday and 85-90 Sunday and Monday with a bit of mugginess.  A bit cooler at the coast applies all 4 days, especially over the Cape, and Cape Ann where 70s hold.
