If you were out & about today across eastern New England (coast) you most likely felt how much cooler the air was….some 20-25 degrees cooler for Boston! Most places along the coast and even inland by 5-15 miles saw temps much much cooler than yesterday. Farther inland, the temps bounced back into the 80s with humidity. This warm & humid air allowed a smattering of showers & storms to fire in CT,RI and even portions of MA. Unfortunately, as these storms (with badly needed rain) moved east they also encountered this cool, ocean air. That kind of air will essentially knock down any kind of shower/thunderstorm activity which is why many of us saw clouds…watched our wx apps and…….didn’t feel one drop. #ThunderstormKryptonite
We have more T-storm kryptonite tomorrow (cool air…70s) and this keeps rain away from us once again despite all sorts of clouds (even some beach fog). Across western New England, the air will be warmer & more humid and out that way there is the risk of some scattered showers & t-storms.
As for the weekend, a weak storm swings through New England with a continuation of clouds and at least a chance of some beneficial rain. Once again, the rain will be scattered in nature so it’s conceivable some of you could go through the entire day, see clouds but only have a few sprinkles. Sunday offers similar weather—clouds & sun with some isolated showers darting through New England. It’s going to be a weekend where outdoor activities that are planned could be OK or…..get drenched with a few showers..tough, I know but…it is what it is…get a Plan B ready just in case.
Sunny, dry & hot weather looks to return for much of next week.
