What a beautiful day we had yesterday! High temperatures reached the 60s. Down we go with our temperatures this morning! It’s a cold start and feels like the teens and twenties.

The wind is still busy out of the northwest. It stays windy this morning, then still breezy this afternoon. Highs will be cooler today in the mid 40s. The wind will make it feel 5-10 degrees chillier throughout the day.
Tonight marks our first 7 pm sunset. Sunset will stay at or later than 7 pm through September 11th. Past our sunset tonight, clouds will increase.

The increasing clouds are ahead of our next weather maker in our progressive pattern. It’s currently centered near Minnesota. Overnight, temperatures will fall into the upper 20s/lows 30s, and that will support snow showers tomorrow morning as precipitation moves in. The coldest temperatures will be north and west, so I think that’s where we have the best chance of patchy coatings on grassy surfaces. You could still see some wet snowflakes elsewhere. Warmer air nudges in from south to north through the morning, flipping the snow to rain. There could be some sleet pellets mixing in during that transition. By noon, the majority of us are under rain showers. Showers continue through the afternoon, steady to heavy at times. Through the evening, the showers taper from west to east. Rain lingers longest across Cape Cod and should clear by 9 pm.

The best chance for patchy coatings will be outside of 495. You could pick up closer to a slushy 1″ in northern Middlesex and northern Worcester counties. Accumulations occur the farther north you get into southern New Hampshire where there could be some slick conditions tomorrow morning. Any snow we can will get washed away by the rain.

We’ve been spoiled with the mild temperatures this March! Our monthly average is about six degrees above normal. Temperatures this week start off chilly and cold. Highs will be closer if not below average generally in the upper 40s/low 50s. There will be breezy conditions at times. Our next chance for rain and the possibility of snowflakes comes Wednesday.
