Wow, what a summer’s day yesterday!  Mid 80s, lowering humidity and a ton of sunshine.  Although, I’ll concede that you folks down across the Cape and Islands had to patiently wait for the nice weather as fog and low clouds were a struggle to break.

Anyway, today, temps take a step back and will continue that slide into Thursday.  It’ll still be a nice day outside on this hump day as low humidity and sunshine prevail.  Afternoon temps range from the upper 60s at the coast to upper 70s inland.  While many of us see mainly sunny skies, there will be more clouds building up in the higher terrain of central and western MA as well as NH and VT.

Low clouds and areas of fog fill in after midnight tonight and we’ll start off with a murky sky on Thursday as low clouds prevail.  The battle that sets up tomorrow?  Low clouds and low level moisture vs. that high June 2nd sun angle.  Who wins?… Probably a draw as low clouds and fog win the morning and that sun has some victories in the afternoon.  The best chance to see that sun will be away from the coastline.  Highs tomorrow are cool, near 60 at the coast to near 70 inland.

A few scattered showers roll in Friday before a nice Saturday returns.  The first half on the weekend is the better half with temps in the low 80s inland, 70s at the coast.  Sunday will feature increasing clouds and the chance for showers arriving by the afternoon.  Heavy showers/thunder are likely by Sunday night.

June 1st averages 71 for a high.  The average high by June 30th is 80!  The overall pattern features more 60s and 70s the next 10-14 vs. 80s and 90s.

June 1st also marks a big weather anniversary as it’s hard to believe that it was already 5 years ago that a powerful EF3 tornado left a 39 mile path of damage across western and central Mass.
