Waterlogged yet? A good chunk of southern New England has picked up 5-8″ of rain over the last 30 days with parts of the Cape pushing past 10″! With a lot of water in an active pattern (21 out of 26 days have had snow or rain), it’s no wonder that some rivers and streams are approaching flood stage.
In fact, a few rivers across southern New England now have a flood warning for minor river flooding. This includes the Taunton River near Bridgewater, and the Purchade Brook in Middleboro, with some flooding expected in the vulnerable area of Woloski Park.
Rain tapers off early this morning and once we kick the rain offshore, the breeze from the west kicks in. That’ll drag the cooler air back through the I-95 corridor, so the temps in the 50s early this morning won’t last. We’ll be back into the 35-40 degree range this afternoon with a wind gusting to around 35mph. A chilly breeze for sure.
We’ll stay dry and seasonable tomorrow, and continue the dry theme into the weekend with highs in the 40s.
