7News – It was a damp and dreary Wednesday! If you were out in the lulls between showers, it felt mild too. Highs reached the upper 50s to near 60. Here’s a look at some rain totals over the past 24 hours.
The bulk of the rain is behind us. There will just be some leftover showers the rest of the night.
Thursday morning won’t be too bad. Sunrise is 7:01 a.m. Morning lows will stay in the low 40s for some of the coolest spots and mid/upper 40s on the coast. We’ll start out with mostly sunshine and may just see a few clouds throughout the day. Highs will be in the upper 40s around the Merrimack Valley and Worcester Hills, near 50 for MetroWest and low 50s for southeast Mass. All that being said, there will be a NW breeze around 15-25 mph, so it’ll feel cooler at times, especially for the morning.
Friday brings us abundant sunshine. Although temperatures won’t be as mild as the past couple of days we’ve spent in the 50s… highs will be in the low 40s. With a high pressure system to our north and the low pressure system (that brought us rain today) still to our southeast, this will set up a breeze along the coast. Northerly wind gusts could get 30-35 mph.
How about the weekend? Well, it’ll be chilly and look a little dreary with mostly clouds around. Overall, high temps will be stuck in the upper 30s. The aforementioned high and low pressure systems will work in tandem blowing a northeast wind across Southern New England. That’ll drag the moisture into our area. Saturday, there could be some sprinkles on the coast. Sunday night, there could be a few showers, maybe even some snowflakes mixing in for the Worcester Hills.
After Thursday, temperatures take a dip and looks like we settle into the 40s and 30s.
